Why does my dog hold in his pee.
He is almost a year old and not neutered. He is a large breed dog. He always holds his pee until he is dashing toward his peeing place. Why does he do this. The vet says he is healthy. And he know where to pee and poop...sometimes he makes it and runs there in time. But why does he hold it in, when the toilets there?

He may get distracted by an interesting smell. My dogs do this all the time.

It is marking spot, his way of saying this is where I pee you dogs out there. This is my domain, stay out.
Then if other dogs pee there it shows to your dog who has been there since he last visited.
