He is a 5 month old Husky/Shepherd mix and he absolutely loves to swim in the pool they have at the local dog park. Sometimes though, if there is another dog swimming in the pool at the same time he will swim towards that other dog and either try to swim on top of it or bite it's tail. I don't have to tell you that the other dog usually doesn't respond positively to him when he does that. It's very hard to correct the behavior when he's in the water because we can't reach him to pull him away or grab his muzzle. I'm not really sure if it's aggression because he doesn't growl at the other dogs. Could it be that he is just a puppy and is curious?
Hi, If he is friendly and loves to swim, it may be that he is trying to play in the water and start a game. (Much to the disgust of the other dog in the water)
I guess you could get your recall really firm and then call him away whenever he approaches another dog in the water while swimming.
He might get the idea that he shouldn't pull tails if he gets called in everytime he tries while in the water.
