My neighboors dog is a min schnouzer, he got in two dog fights with my dog, rat terrier, has only a few scrathes on him one behind his ear *small* it was bleeding a little but stopped, and he was ok as far as i knw. the ppl did nothing the 1st time my our dogs were in a fight (i pulld mine off she on the other did nothing just stood there) i was to the point tht if she didnt take their dog off i was going to kick him off my dog (both males mine is uneatured going to get him nuetred, hers idk?) ever since tht happed they hate each other and their dog hates me. (prevousily b4 i ownd my dog he got attacked by a chow chow, my dog got stiches) i usually dont hold a grudge against 'mean' etc breeds ( I love all of gods creatures!) at all but i still hold a grudge aganist their dog. What should i do? sue? or call the cops, animal control? help!
~they dont bother to train their dog , first time owners (they still own the dog) i think they should train their dog or get it listed as dangirusdog
Best thing to do is stand up to your neighboors and say " Listen I dont know whats wrong with your dog but it needs to stop its getting old and im tired of it " If the dog doesnt stop call animal control !

If any thing happens again you need to call the cops and complain about a loose dog attacking your dog. What if that dog attacked a person one day? Same thing.

If your dog is behind a secure fence this couldn't happen...If you had him on a leash you could pick him up if you saw the other dog coming.
If you are keeping your dog secure he couldn't fight...It takes 2 to tango.

My dog has gotten in fights before and the most effective thing for us is throwing a blanket over them. They can't see and immediately stop.

First look into your local leash laws, most areas have some type of leash law, and go by that. But you have to make sure you follow those laws to if you call and complain about them and thier schnauzer. It's sad they are not training thier dog, schanzuers are wonderful animals, but very strong minded and not a good dog for first time owners who are not willing to dedicate the training and time needed.
Also when reading the leash law, see if there are any laws regaurding dog bites, some areas have a "free bite" where the 1st time it happens nothing happens, while other areas are stricker with biting dogs.
Hopefully it won;t happen again, just keep yours on a leash and pick it up if you see the schnauzer approaching, if it does happen again, call the police and place a complaint, then send your neighbor the vet bills attached to the copy of the police report and leash law.

I would be mad at the owners for not keeping their dogs fenced in.
And I would fence in your property so they stay out.
You do what you think is best but sounds like a bad situation.
There dog can not attack yours at his will and they should be more responsible, it is the owner's fault not the dogs.
fencing is going to help:)
