What kind of brush should I use?

I was wondering what kind of brush I should use for my beagle...he has a healthy coat with no dry skin and I don't believe he has any history of rashes and such...so, suggestions?

I have found that the Zoom Groom made by Kong is a great brush for short hair dogs.

zoom grooms are good.
I use for my boston's short fine hair a cat soft bristle brush, they sometimes have dog ones, but very hard to find.
I have used that same brush on rabbits for 4H. The one I have has wooden handle and such soft bristles. It is made by le salon, but I don't remember where I got it sorry, I think it may be a cat one. I have had it for long time since he was small about 7 yrs. at least.

For routine brushing of my Labs, I use a soft bristled brush. For seasonal shedding, I switch to a wire slicker brush.

I was given a Furminator. I thought it did about the same as the slicker bush, but much slower. It did seem to do a good job on my son's dog. We are guessing it is a Foxhound. It looks like a Beagle, but is much too big.
