What is the best breed to get?

I already have 2 dogs. a 17 month old Parson russell terrier and a 12 month old Staffordshire bull terrier and am thinking about getting another dog. They are both male and rescue dogs with good temprements and get on fine with other dogs. I am looking to rescue another dog but wondering about the best breed to go for, must have relatively high energy as i walk them for about 2-3 hours per day and they are hardly ever left on their own, they come with me everywhere. also low shedding. would it be best to get another dog or would a bitch be fine aswell? neither of my current dogs are castrated. any suggestions?

If you want a high energy dog and you are willing to spend a lot of time with it I would suggest a Border Collie. They are VERY energetic and need a lot of exercise. They do not like being cooped up inside for hours every day though and would need a large amount of space to run around in. They are very affectionate though and EXTREMELY smart. Let me know what you decide!!!

If you haven't owned a bitch with an uncastrated dog, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get a female, unless your going to spay her. I highly recommend neutering your current dogs. It will eliminate some risks of cancer, make them roam less, and generally make them more comfortable and happy!

Excuse me, but aren't you the same person who was asking about allowing your 2 dogs to stay together alone? If I remember correctly, you've only had the PRT for about 6 months, and the Staffy for a month or less. While it is very kind of you to want to rescue another dog, I think you need to take some time and allow these dogs to get accustomed to each other before you rescue another. There will always be plenty of dogs to rescue - don't rush it!

I think another dog with an equal amount of energy as the other two have.Get a medium or large dog because small dogs such as Yorkies don't need as much walking. I would suggest another terrier that is dog friendly already and around the age of your other two dogs. If you get a female, get one that is spayed or have your males neutered. It helps with territorial issues they may have and you wont have to worry about an unwanted pregnancy. There's alot of APBT that are adoptable and they are very loving pets but make sure to get one that is already socialized with people and other dogs.
