I am assuming I could probably spend hours and hours and hours trying to figure out all of the rules, regulations, suggestions and necessary information for flying with my Doberman from the US to London, but would it be easier and does it make sense to use a company like www.terminal4pets.com to help me do it? Is the expense justified?
No way do the airlines want to get stuck with a dog problem. Talk to the airline. They know all the rules and will advise you for free. Maybe even talk to a couple of airlines and see which ones are the pet friendliest and have the best pet safety record. The FAA requires keeping records of that.

Don't fly your dog it is terrifying and you are putting him in the care of complete (sometimes unkind strangers.) I never understood why dog owners would out their animals through that.
It is terrifying for them.
