My husband saw a workout with some greyhounds with other dogs just about the same size but with longer hair, and thought they were whippets which could not be since whippets are so much smaller.Does anyone know what they might be? Thanks
They may have be saluki's, Borzoi's or afghan's. Borzoi's are a bit bigger but the other ones are the same size. All three are sighthounds just like greyhounds.

the dog you saw was a saluki. I have owned salukis for years and know they are used with greyhounds. a saluki is almost as fast as a greyhound but has more endurance then a greyhound. After about 600 yards a greyhound will slow down and the saluki passes them. I have been a witness to at many lure coursing events. nether of the other dogs mentioned by the other two people would be able to keep up and would not be the same size of a greyhound.
