We adopted Colby in May from the animal shelter - his tag said - Terrier, Pit Bull, Retriever, Lab mix.
When I took him to the vet, she says maybe border collie because of his markings. She said the white fur with black spots is not common and only a few breeds have it.
I don't think border collie because his fur and his features seem different to me. I think he looks like he's build like a terrier, with dalmatian markings and maybe lab? Something has to account for the black fur... It's really funny because his toenails are even polka dot - some are white and some are black, same for his feet.
His fur is really thick and it sheds constantly if that helps to identify him.
Hmmm.... Sounds tough to think about it. Maybe if you can put a pic of your dog, then maybe it will be easier. :D

What a cutie, He reminds me of a hunting dog a friend of my dads had when I was a kid. I don't remember the name, but he was black and white with spots.
Look for pictures of hunting dogs and you should find one that looks a lot like him.
