What are your favorite dog-related books?

I just read a book of short stories called Woman's Best Friend; women writers on the dogs in their lives.

Next on my list: The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood.

I also like:
Dr Pitcairn's Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats
Pet Food Politics

and the magazines: Animal Wellness, Bark, Modern Dog

I haven't read any of those.
I want to buy Chicken Soup for dog lovers. I think that is the name.
I heard it is super good. Does anyone have that?
I seen it a couple of weeks ago for sale but didn't have time to look at it.
(oh, not a book, but I still love, I am Legend, but it makes me cry)

Marley and Me is a great book! It is better and funnier than the movie. Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul is good...I have not read Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul yet.

I like Where The Red Fern Grows, its very sad though.
I also like The Power Of Positive Dog Training and Chicken Soup For The Pet Lover's Soul.
I like DogFancy and Whole Dog Journal magazines as well.

My favorite dog books are by Patricia McConnell, Ph.D. She is a behaviorist who works with aggression cases, and she writes about her love for the animals in her life: one cat, one flock of sheep, one Great Pyrenees sheep-guarding dog, and three Border Collies. Her books are warm and full of humor and good information. Start with The Other End of the Leash - it provides great information on how humans and dogs communicate with each other, and how to increase your understanding of your furry friends.

A nice short book with a lot of communication information is Calming Signals: On Talking Terms with Dogs by Turid Rugaas. Turid is a Norwegian dog trainer who lives on a farm and her keen observations are very helpful, whether you are a new dog owner or not.

Fiction: I loved Merle's Door and Marley and Me!

There are many books related to the dogs are my favorite some of them are : The dog of war written by
Frederick Forsyth and other than this there is the Thinking dog and Tales of two species are the interesting books related to the dog.
