What are the rules for takign a dog on an airplane these days?

I have a boston terrier and she will be 8 months when I leave for Arizona, what are the rules on taking her on an airplane?
How do they do on planes?

It depends on which airline you are planning on using. If you are planning on flying before September you might run into trouble because of your dog's breed. If the airline deems your dog is too large to fit under the seat in the cabin (if they even allow that at all) they will not allow brachycephalic breeds (those with 'snub noses') to ride in the cargo area during warmer weather (I think above 85 degrees). You need to either get online or call customer service to get the rules in detail.

All dogs behave differently on an airplane. Some don't mind it at all where others completely panic. It's also not recommended that you sedate your dog for the flight; some airlines won't accept pets who have been sedated.
