We are trying to get our dog used to his carrier because we are flying in August and he's coming with us :) ...

we left the carrier open for him to get used to but he chewed the zipper making it impossible to leave open so I had to glue that part shut and I have to put him in through the top. So today I took him with me to get coffee, just a short ride to get used to the carrier.... and he was fine whimpered a bit but when I pulled up to the drive thru he started barking!!! haha any ideas how to deter this, or is it just something we have to keep wrokin' at? Thanks!

Well , you can try continuing as usual, he may be barking just to get your attention. If ther's no luck after a week or so here's some tips. You could place his favourite chew toy inside of the carrier, or a bone/treat that's long lasting. Nylabone's would be great for this type of this :) Good luck & have fun on your trip !

Well, if he's fine when he's in the carrier, and starts to bark when he's in the drive thru...it's a normal dog thing. Whether you wanna keep up with it or not is your choice, but I would make him sit. Then tell him to stay. Always carry treats with you, once you're out of the drive-thru, and he's still quiet and still, you tell him good boy, and hand over the treat!
