We also have a 7year old cat
Usually there isn't a problem, but it is most like with 2 females followed by 2 males, and best with one of each. Get young ones, 7-8 weeks in order to socialize them to you, your house, the cat, etc. Only those that ignore scientific studies would argue otherwise, www.akc.org and www.apdt.com
It would be a good idea to space them out a little. If they are too close together, they tend to bond to each other and not to you.

This is one of those things that really depends on the individual dogs moreso than the breed or sex of each dog.
If you can, try and spend time with the dogs before you adopt or bring them home, and try to get them together first to make sure they are compatible and that they seem like they get along. it will make your life easier and their lives much easier, too.
Things to look for when watching puppies play together are things like whether or not they have puppy respect for each other; if one snaps at the other, is there a period in which play calms down and the "snap-ee" respects the space of the "snapper"? Things like that will tell you a lot about how they are going to work as a dynamic duo in your home.
Good luck with your new family members!

Kuddos to you! I have a puppy and she's a challenge, all puppies are alot of work, i would imagine with two it's double the work! But if you can handle and have time and patience for two puppies that that's great! As for the breeds both are great loving dogs! I can tell you now that your hate will hate them, a 7 year old cat will probably not have any patience for a puppy let alone two. I have a 4 year old cat and she wants nothing to do with the puppy.....once our pup is older and calms down I'm sure maybe then they might get along.
Good luck!

Female lab, a male will drive the cat nuts. A male corgi, wonderful in either gender, but the males are super devoted.
Corgi's can be hard to housebreak, so plan on getting the Corgi in good weather (toward spring time)
