thinking of giving arlowe a bath...what kind dog shampoo should i bath him in???
Arlowe has really dry skin. sooo this is the shampoo i bought him----hartz groomers best oatmeal shampoo :-] will this sooth his skin??? he is a pitbull/lab mix......thanx!!!!

I think oatmeal shampoo is good fur dry skin last I heard. I would also reccomend the oatmeal or any other shampoo from this company:

Any kind of organic shampoo or all natural shampoo is the best and most relaxing shampoo. Hartz is one of the worst brands to wash a dog with.

I think a bath in anything adds to dry skin problems. Have you checked with the vet? Brush him daily with a soft bristled brush and perhaps add a teaspoon of liquid cooking oil a day to his food. Most of them are rich in the linoleic acid dogs need for their skin and coat.

for the love of god, dont use hartz! they have a horrible reputation for killing pets! the best product out there in my opinion that is easy to find is the hydrosurge brand. they sell this at my walmart and probably yours too. they have a wonderful oatmeal shampoo that smells like apples and it is only a few cents more than hartz! FYI, this is the line that all of the petsmart grooming shops use :)
