My puppy's head always smells bad, like pee or something. It's not her ears, we have been using ear wash for them and they smell fresh and clean. She just had a bath the other day and smelled great for one day. I have been watching her, and she hasn't even been rolling her head in anything stinky. What could I do to try to keep her smelling fresh? I can't give her another bath I don't want to dry her skin out. Would a babywipe or something help?
It may be a nutrition thing. I've seen testimonies of dog's having a better smell (or no "doggy smell" at all) after switching to a better diet. I've seen this mostly with a raw diet.
My dog is fed a homeprepared raw diet. We started about a year ago, and I personally haven't noticed any dramatic changes with smell (there may have been a small change), other than having much better-smelling breath. But each dog is different.
If you want to know more about a raw diet, I recommend looking at Dogster's raw diet forum. Look for Gio's thread "So you're interested in feeding raw..."

I remember years ago, my granny had a very lovable Chiuaua, with one problem. Little Bambi stunk to high heaven. Granny tried everything to get rid of the stink, to no avail and couldn't for the life of her figure out why poor Bambi was so odorous. Then suddenly one day the odor was gone and remained gone for a few weeks before returning. Her detective skills kicked in and she discovered the odor problem was a result of her brand of Kibble. She had inadvertently picked up another brand of dog food on a shopping trip. When Bambi starting eating her Kibble again, the malodorous smell was back. I'd forgotten about Bambi and her Kibble until a year or two ago. I rescued a neighbor's little Yorkie that escaped. She had the Bambi stink too. When talking to her Mommy, you guessed it, her meal of choice was Kibble. I'm not saying Kibble makes every dog stink, but it certainly did a number on Bambi and the little Yorkie. Once smelled, you never forget! Switch foods!

that may be something that you want the vet to check out.
Maybe there is some bacteria or yeast on her skin.
not sure.
If it is bacteria then shampoo like the puppy tearless, oatmeal and other won't kill the bacteria.
Yeasty smells are similar to moldy bread.
Bacteria is like stenchy, hard to explain, I've got a sensitive nose.:)
There is something if you would think it is bacterial.
Found it at Petsmart. Called Wound Lotion, by Century 21st
It is a lotion, use it every other day sparingling for say 5-6 days just a dab, place it on the skin.
When my dog's hotspot cleared the skin was stench like, and this lotion worked a miracle for her. No odor in 3 days and the skin looked great, just follow the directions.

I would suggest taking it to the vet. I am almost sure the vet will want to do something other than switch to feeding raw. For all the glowing testimonials on it you find on the web, most vets are opposed to it.

Puppy's skin under the eyes can have an awful smell. I often wash my boxer''s face with a washcloth and baby shampoo. All 3 of my dog's eyes get washed this way often. My dachshund also stinks badly when his anal glands get full. For some all reason, he is the only one of my dogs that has to go to the vet with this, although he sometimes can do it himself after sitting in his warm bath.
