Training

So my pup is about 81/2 months and he is mostly potty trained. The problem is when we trained him we did not allow him in the carpeted bedrooms or the bathroom with rugs. Now that he is potty trained we have started to leave the doors open to all rooms. And he thinks it is ok to poop on the carpet or the rugs. Can someone please tell me what to do!

ASKED BY

How do I teach my puppy to jump off the furniture?

My 14 wk old Mini Aussie always wants up on the furniture, which we allow our dogs to do, but then most of the time he is scared to jump off. He will jump off occasionally, but other times he hesitates and whines. We have hard wood floors so sometimes when he jumps off he slips on the floor, could this be the reason he doesn't like to jump off?

ASKED BY

ANY IDEAS FOR SMART TOYS or games

I am trying to find different games or toys which keep my dog ocupied for some time. I have tried the lid from Illy coffe or yogurt when younger and she eiter push it with her nose to some corner and then turn it up in order to find dry granula treat. Or I spred some granulas all over the place she can not see when on her 4 legs but can smell and reach only when standing. I have tried Kong filling with biscuits or cut slice of cheese. She has found ways to simply empty it within few minutes. her favourite is rope but that includes me either running after my puppy or pulling it .ANY SUGGESTION FOR TOYS OR GAMES WHICH KEEP THEM BUSY FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES? she is not much into fetching but loves chewing and training and sniffing.

ASKED BY

first off her dad got the dog for someone so i didn't get to ask any questions. He dropped it off and said it was born 7/22/09 and it had it's first shots. it's a female and he has the akc records, also things i'm not sure about, so he says he have to get her fixed cuz so many things can go wrong, and they told him she was "papertrained" which i'm not sure how to do either! she is black and white and her white is very drty so i would like to give her a bath at least till i find out how much a groomer costs! (my husband and i are full tme students living on unemployment with 6 kids) i want to take very good care of her and we have a vet from our cat that takes payments, so what are the most important thingsto do first, and what should i do to make sure she is healthy and clean! (her eye fur is brownish) thnks for your help.... amber

ASKED BY

I'm worried that the pups are not going to get enough milk and that they may get cold, although they seem warm in a huddle and are not crying - they are outside in a protected area but the temp gets in the fifties, they all seem so healthy and vibrant - they are two and a half weeks old.

ASKED BY
