People shouldnt feel bad because they don't want to pay an arm and a leg at the Vet's office

If an animal needs emergency care bring it to your Vet, don't hesitate, however for those who are new pet owners and are just stating to look for a Vet there is no shame in comparing prices from the Veterinarians in your area. Some Vet's are money hungry, I have seen this myself, and will tell you nonsense to get much more money out of you, others care about animals more then the money, like the Vet I was so lucky to get. He's straighforward, friendly and honest. He doesnt perform tests that are not needed just to make money, like some Vets do. He actually has so many patients that he can no longer accept any new ones and guess what? He charges less than any Vet in town! No shame people, don't let others make you feel bad for not going to the "Best Vet" In my book they all went to school, they all practice and therefore can all do the job.

ASKED BY

My dogs glands fill up and need to be expressed every few months or so. I just had him done about a month ago. There is a clear liquid coming out of his behind and it really smells, could it be the glands over flowing or is this some thing I should worry about. He is licking like crazy.

ASKED BY

How do we get rid of gland smell?

We have a German shepherd/pit mix with just a little bit of cocker spaniel in her somewhere (had her DNA tested). Adopted her from the spca when she was about 3 months old from the SPCA in may '09. We have had her on nutro max since we got her, never had a diet change. The past couple months have been horrible though! She never stops licking/chewing on herself and the smell is getting horrible. She is a complete inside dog except for play time and gets baths regularly (but too much so as not to dry out her skin).
We took her to the groomers a week ago and her glands when done/checked and they said everything was fine. The smell is back!! help!

ASKED BY

It's very odd, it disappears and then comes back again. last night I gave her a teeny spoonful of nature diet as she wouldn't eat Hills and I needed her to have her anti biotic, but went straight through her and gave her bloody loose motions - but this morning all back to normal again.

Hello, I am a 19 year old male and I live with my family. Overall we are a family of 6. In our house we have 3 dogs. a poodle mini-toy, a yorkshire terrier and a jack russell. The thing is, I am moving to philly for college in about 1 month, and I am gonna be there on my own. Me and my poodle are very attached. She is with me all the time. she sleeps with me. she keeps me company while eating, when I am taking a shower, doing any type of work, etc. And seeing that I am leaving on my own i wanted to take her with me. But now I am wondering if its the right choice, because of two reasons:
1) I do not want to be apart from her, and she never likes it when i leave on a trip or anything of that nature. To the point of never leaving my room when I am not home.
2)I do not know if me taking her is the right thing cause maybe she will miss the rest of the family and the other dogs and that might feel bad for her

Hoping you can help,
Regards,
