Update to my puppy's seizure problem...

Thank you for your answers, we have been to the vet and the outcome looks a little better. The day after the seizure we realized that he might have eaten mushrooms that were on a tree stump in the backyard, so the seizure might have been from poisoning. When we took him to the vet for the eye dilating, they found out he had high blood pressure on top of the heart murmur. The doc said that both could be from the poisoning, and the high BP can cause dilating problems. We gave him 80 cc's of Toxiban, and he has been much better since. His eye went back to normal later that day, and he has been acting completely normal since. We go back tomorrow to see if his BP and murmur are any better, hopefully it was all from the poisoning. I will warn everyone I talk to now to check their yards for mushrooms, I never thought to check for them or that they could be so dangerous!

Thanks again

ASKED BY

Thank you to all that answered my question about Ace's weight. I did end up calling my vet that next day. He has seen Ace since he was a pup, and knows him well. He told me that his weight is not a concern, and that he is growing just fine, and that I shouldn't worry. You all really helped me calm down until I could call my vet. :) Thanks!!!

ASKED BY

Someone said my dog was at an unhealthy weight.....

I really want some honest opinions. Ace is going to be 2 in March. He is a large dog. He stands taller than my husband on his hind legs. (Hubby is 6' tall). Someone told me that I must have done something to make Ace grow this much, and I promise you, I would never do that. I could care less what they think really. However, this person told me that because he is so big, he is going to have health problems starting in the next couple of years. She is not a vet. or anything close to being one, but I am worried now. Can a dog his size have a heart attack? She told me he would because he is 140 pounds, but he is not fat, he is mostly muscle. Please, if you have the chance, look at his pictures and let me know what you think. I trust all of you here more than I trust her.
Edit: He was at the vet last month for shots. Vet said nothing about his weight. Just said he looked healthy. He has no rolls at all, and I can feel his ribs when I rub him. I just wonder if I should see another vet.

ASKED BY

Watering mouth, lethargic, neurological symptoms. PLEASE HELP

My 2 year old, 5 pound Maltese was falling over and disoriented about a week ago. I took her to a vet and they said that it was probably from a mild ear infection. She seemed to be doing fine but the all of a sudden became lethargic during the day, she wont walk and she is drooling a lot leaving puddles of water wherever she lies. Her head bobs when she tries to keep her head up. When she has the energy, usually at night she walks around the bed in circles stepping on us and the other dogs or paces around the apartment sad with her tail between her leg. I took her back to the vet today and he is running some blood tests but said he thinks that she has a splint in her liver causing some of the waste to go into her body. He said this was going to be very expensive to correct and I've had dogs misdiagnosed to the sum of 10K in the past. I swore I would never do that again and don't want to lose her. Does anyone have any ideas of what could make a 2 year old 5 pound Maltese act like this?

ASKED BY

I've heard some people say that it is Toxic and I've heard others say, that it's perfectly safe to use around your pets and that it's just a rumor through a Hoax E-Mail that has surfaced! What if the pet accidentally steps on a wet floor that was just mopped with Swiffer Wet Jet Solution and licks their paws or the floor, will that affect your pet in any way healthwise? Do any of you know for sure? Do you use Swiffer Solution around your pets? Have you ever had any problems medically with your pets being around it? I just want to use something safe to clean my Ceramic Tile with and don't want to take any chances around my dogs or my cat if there is any risk. I was thinking about purchasing a Wet Jet and I don't know if I should or not. I just want to put my mind at ease knowing it's ok and safe to use, before I go purchase one! Should I get one or not? Sorry about all the questions! Any information or experiences that you've had with your pets, would be truly appreciated! Thanks

ASKED BY
