Dog food... dry or canned?

I have a 1 1/2 year old Boston Terrier, Darcy. She has been eating Innova since I got her when she was 11 weeks old. Lately I feel that she isn't eating as much as she used to or as much as she should be. She is very active and healthy, she also gets regular treats and we try not to give table food, but once in a while she gets a "treat". I was thinking about mixing some canned food in with her dry food but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Any advice?

ASKED BY

Can I Feed My German Shepherd Puppy Adult Dog Food?

Hey Everyone,

I have been told several times that I should now be switching my 5 month old German Shepherd to adult dog food, so I finally looked it up on the internet and some sites seem to say that its better for the puppy and some say it’s a big no no!

The sites for it say that it aids in slowing down there growth so it's not so hard on their joints, and it better in the long run for large breed puppies as they are supposed to mature much slower then say a small breed puppy. The other sites say i would be depriving my puppy of needed protein so his growth...

So what are your opinions on the subject!
Thanks!!

I was curious if anyone knows what brand and type of dog food would be better or best for my Miniature Pincsher, he doesn't have a problem eating the food I buy and seems to like it very well, I buy Beneful Orginal (type of beneful varies sometimes I choose the healthy weight or the healthy coat) But I was just curious if there was a better more nutrious store brand dog food besides Iams because he flat out hates it! lol Thanks!

ASKED BY

I've read mini dachshunds can be picky eaters, anyone have any suggestions of a dog food for dachshunds?

I'm feeding my mini dachshund Blue Buffalo for puppys right now. I feed him 1/2 cup twice a day. He eats most of it, but will leave half or less sometimes. He will always eat all of it, if I mix a little wet food in with it. I've mixed Prescription Science Diet with the dry, because I had it left over when he had an upset stomach. He just loves the wet food. Is it ok to mix a little wet food in with dry? Any suggestions on a dog food that dachshunds particulary like? The upset stomach was from always picking up fuzz and string. He had diarrhea from it and had to eat wet food for a few days, I've also noticed his poop has been softer whether he eats just hard food or soft food.

ASKED BY

Rotating dog food flavors

I just started feeding Natures Variety a month ago. So far so good we love it. We are currently feeding the prairie chicken meal and brown rice. The company encourages rotation, so Next week I'm going to buy the beef meal and barely. and rotate those two since they are the most affordable flavors. (venison and salmon are crazy expensive)

It has more calories then the chicken (390 for chicken and 430 for beef)so should I reduce his portions when feeding this one? I'm feeding 1/3 cup twice a day of the chicken, should I go down to 1/4 cup or keep it the same? thanks

ASKED BY
