An old man who has been running a rescue/ some are mostly german shepherds they are European dogs. He has fallen due to the economy, an injury of some kind. He needs help finding homes, I think he has four 10 month old pups as well. He lives in Colorado. I am too far to help him. I can get his # if you can help. He has helped alot of dogs and now needs other people's help. I hope posting it here is ok, because I don't know all the details of his situation. He is putting his beloved senior to sleep since they are very old and not in great health, my heart goes out to him. thank you.

ASKED BY

Advice Needed for Aggressive Dog

My in-law's 8 year old Labrador Retriever/Pyrenees mix, viciously attacked their daughter in-laws dog-also a Lab mix who is 5 months old. It's not the first time it happened so the dog was being watched, the 5 month old pup may have antagonized.
He's 8 years old and not fixed(I'm guessing he didn't need to be?). I think the aggression mainly comes from that but some people say it's too late even if you neuter at his age he'll still be aggressive.
In the past few years, but only since then, they said he has been harming & killing farm livestock as well as going after visitor's dog & farm dogs as well as cats. For the past few months he's had to be on rope, but is being worked with(animals& children) & moved around frequently. As a family dog of that long, watching over the property and scaring away coyotes &wolves as well as being a family pet, they need a proper option. Adopting out(even safe if he's a killer?), euthanasia, other options? Any advice would be appreciated.

ASKED BY

Is finding a new home sometimes the better option?

I have a puppy (probably whippet mix) who was most likely abused before we adopted her. Although she seemed affectionate when adopted, she now doesn't seem to want anything to do with people other than be fed. She seems to have bonded well with our other puppy, but when you try and pet her she either tries to play bite your hand or rolls on her back and flails her legs around so you can't get close to her. Otherwise she's really sweet, smart, and easy to train. But neither myself nor my husband can seem to form any kind of bond with her. These are my first dogs ever, so I'm starting from scratch. I have no idea how to handle her and I usually get frustrated and start yelling (which isn't good for either of us). We are wondering if it might be better to send her to a home with the knowledge to deal with a dog like that? Please be kind in your responses, I realize it is a horrible thing give up a dog that you've promised a lifelong home to so I don't take this decision lightly.

ASKED BY

Is it safe to leave 2 dogs alone together. I have a 17 month old Parson russell terrier and a 12 month old staffordshire bull terrier. I have had jasper (PRT) for 5 months and have just got Milo (Staffie) 2 weeks ago. They generally get along fine just a bit of play fighting although milo weighs quite a bit more and so sometimes hurts jasper which makes him snap which makes me worry about them fighting. They are both male and both rescue dogs. Any help and info would be appreciated.
