I need to find a Pit rescue. I know a 1yr old Pit that is scheduled to be put down this Saturday 1/23/10. Please Help!

The Pit is Pepper, she was used as a "bait dog" she is good with children, dogs, cats, etc. She does have some medical issues that will need testing for and probably life long maintenance. She is adorable and very much in need of a saviour! The vet told my friend that the dog is hopeless, but she is so full of energy and life!

i am 14 right now, but in the future i really want to do pitbull rescue. i love pitbulls, i want to make their reputation/futures better! i have pitbull fever right now! i know how pitbulls can be so sweet, especially towards humans. i think pitbulls are the nicest dogs i have ever met. how can i prepare for that occupation? how do i start? who can i talk to about it? do you guys think i can do it?

Our area shelters are suffering due to the economy. I am a volunteer and am looking for help finding dog food manufactures and pharmaceutical companies (for vaccines) that will donate or deeply discount food and vaccines.

what breed of dogs are used to exercise and train with greyhounds?

My husband saw a workout with some greyhounds with other dogs just about the same size but with longer hair, and thought they were whippets which could not be since whippets are so much smaller.Does anyone know what they might be? Thanks

I rescued a BMC and she only weighed 29 lbs. She is totally healthy now, but need to find her a home. Any ideas?

Black Mouth Cur. Approx. 4-5 yrs. old. Rescued in Tyler, TX. Weighed 29 lbs and had a broken jaw, now 74 lbs. Jaw fixed, spayed, current on vaccines, on HeartGuard Plus. I need help for a pitt that has been traumatized

My soon to be sister-in-law has a 6 yr old pitt bull and a boston terrier. She had another pitt a few months ago, but had to put him down. He attacked the other pitt, his father. Now the father growls and snaps at the boston when it gets near his neck, where he was bitten. The issue is getting worse as now he growled and snapped while the boston was in a kennel. This dog never even fought back when he was attacked. Unfortunately my sis-in-law broke up the attack and is equally traumatized by it. She is not able to do the rehab training needed to make this pitt well again. The local shelters will not take him, and make the issue worse telling a fragile woman that her dog will turn on people next. I have bought some time for the dog but unless I find help she has no choice but to put him to sleep as well. We are in Orange county New York. If anyone can help please contact me. he is a overweight dog from the cat and dog rescue i volunteer for. i know these aren't the best pictures but they're the best i could get with him being sooo scared at the petsmart adoption event. we think he is a border collie/lab mix. he just barely got brought back that why he was scared. Looking to connect with others interested in establishing an animal sanctuary/rescue shelter ~ dogs, cats, etc. Start out small and then see where it goes! Have some available resources and am able to relocate if necessary. Would also consider partnering with an already existing facility.
