Questions at Dogster Answers

I'm going on vacation for 1 week (9 nights total) and worried how my 1 year old Boston is going to handle it

My pup is very attached to me - she loves being with people, but is especially close to me (probably because when we got her I was the one that really took care of her all the time - walking, feeding, everything!) I am going away for a week (9 nights to be exact), the longest I've been away from her is 1 night. She will be home with my grandma so she will not be in a strange place while I am way, but I'm worried about her, how she is going to react to me not being around for so long. I'm also going to have people come by to play with her and take her for walks (since my grandma works). Does anyone have any advice, I just want to make sure she will be OK - as crazy as it might sound, I'm worried about her, especially since I am going to be on a cruise the other side of the country.

I am 1, and my mommy is really nervous I won't be the little angel I normally am...hehe She's heard mixed reviews on sedatives (anti anxiety meds) and is now nervous to use them.... she knows she can't take me out of my carrier during flight. What about water? Any thoughts on keeping me calm? And we have a layover w/ possibility of no outside time for me... should she keep me in carrier? I may be perfectly fine, but she knows I hate my kennel :-P and is trying to be more prepared as not to have a miserable flight! Any suggestions/advise is greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

I am looking for a camp for my dog and myself to spend a week hiking, games, swimming, obedience, etc. Am looking at the end of Aug. or Oct. in Northern California area! Have found only one camp in Stateline NV. and understand it is filled from year to year. Thanks,

I am worried about leaving my puppy in a kennel...

I will be going on an 8 day vacation in two months and I will not be taking my puppy with me (he will be 5 months at the time of my vacation). I am really worried and somewhat sad about having to leave him in a kennel to the point I have mentioned canceling the vacation to my husband...I know I shouldnt be this worried but I havent had any experience with a kennel before...maybe some words of encouragement or what I should expect from a kennel??

I have tried benadryl up to 150 mg without making her sleepy or tranquil. She stands on long trip, foams at the mouth, etc. Any suggestions so that we can enjoy our long trips - we travel 2x per year between Oregon and Arizona.

Hi there. Well the pound let us bring our baby home today (at 8am)instead of Monday. And thank you for all your help with choosing names. We have it narrowed to two...Clover and Mabel. We are leaning more towards Clover. Anyway...she is 16 weeks and active, great with our cats and just perfect. We are taking her out after every meal and in general about every 3 hours. I was just wondering how long we should wait before we take her to our cottage. We want her to get used to the house and routines but we also want her to come to the cottage with us and enjoy boating, fishing and hiking. Any ideas on when is a good age to start introducing these activities?

First time flier... any tips?

I may be traveling, by car, to California for two or three weeks, then flying home. I don't have anyone to keep my mini dachshund for me so she will be going with me. I'm really nervous about flying by myself. I've only done it once and I'm a very nervous flier. One thing I'm worried about is Layla barking a lot. She barks at people she doesn't know. She's done ok when I take her into pet stores so far. But I worry about all the noises and people. She's a very hyper little girl. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Also, any suggestions on the kind of carrier I should get? I have flibromyalgia and can't carry something too heavy. She weighs at least 13 pounds herself.
