can someone give me some info on GIMP?!

sooo.. i downloaded redownloaded GIMP onto my computer and it didn't give my computer a virus. i need some info on it. such as, can i download a picture from my computer then touch it up? if so, how do i do that? also what i can do with it? thanx!!!

i downloaded GIMP on my computer from www.gimp.com and it downloaded a bunch of stuff including stuff that gave my computer a virus! it also downloaded anti-spyware. i can't get the stuff off....my question is why did alot of people recommend it..in the forums, when it gives computer viruses? also is it just my computer that is sensitive (?) to things being downloaded? THANX!!!!

I have a beagle about 17" tall. The limit is 12" but there are taller dogs that Sonny that are like 20" or 25". An old hag rudely told me that Sonny was over the limit. I told her to buzz off while I walk down the stairs but she kept on talking even when I reached the bottom floor. She must of thought I actually gave crap to what she was saying. How can I get people to SHUT UP?! I dont want to have to lose my dog.
