Strange dog behavior

My sister has an 8 yo male mini poodle and an 8 yo male chinese crested(hairless). Both dogs are neutered They have lived together for approx. 1 1/2. The poodle was there first and is dominant. The poodle has started licking the neck of the chinese crested and has made a sore spot (raw and bleeding). The chinese crested will show his teeth and snap, but he won't stop it. My question: can anyone give her advice to make the poodle stop. Separating them is not an options. Thank you.

My dog popped stitch after neutering-- is it possible it will heal without being replaced?

I live in a part of Africa where vet services are limited, and have a wonderful 15 mth old male dog I found in the street just over a year ago. I was very unsure about whether or not to neuter him because local vets just aren't that competent, but had heard there was a good one who catered to expats across the border. My dog is pretty alpha, I've been worried about his aggressive tendencies esp towards strangers and kids, and so after lots of soul searching, we went across the border yesterday and he had his snip at what seemed like a decent though limited clinic. Eight hour road trip. When we got back, he had already popped a stitch, leaving a wound about 1 cm long and 1/2 cm across in his scrotum, slow bleed. I cleaned it with powdered iodine, which was all I could get. This morning the bleeding has stopped, no seepage or anything. Getting a stitch put back in, ie long trip back, in is going to be hard on him-- do you know if it is possible for it to heal on its own without it?

ASKED BY

What are the pinkish-white rounded bumps in my puppy's mouth?

Rupert has pinkish-white large bumps on the sides of his mouth, just inside the lips, around the inside edge. They are smaller at the base and appear to be fleshy, not pustules. Eww, so gross! My husband picked him up from the vet after his neuter surgery a few days ago, and the vet left me a voicemail, saying that they would talk to me about Rupert's mouth next Friday, when he goes back to have his stitches removed. This must mean it's nothing serious, and I will have an answer in six days. But... well, it's just bugging me on a Saturday night and I thought my Dogster friends might know what this is. Thanks in advance!

ASKED BY

How much to pay for pet door actuator?

Need pet door actuator or discriminator, (magnetic or ?) to keep unwanted animals (Raccoons, Oppossum and other neighborhood animals out of the house. This is mostly a problem at night when feral animals, exotic rare critters, from nearby woods come for food and warmth. I have known these to be available, but peolple no longer available. Door will not swing until YOUR pet is getting close to the door. Thank You for your help. Getting up in the middle of the night to chase anything out of the house inclines most people to bear arms when searching the house for the intruder. melvinwichita@cox.net

ASKED BY

Sudden vomiting and diarrhea- is this something I should be very worried about?

Desmond had 2 liquid-y bowel movements yesterday (at the same times he normally goes, one was in the house though). He hadn't eaten anything other than his dog food that morning, and his stool in the morning was relatively normal, maybe slightly runny. He threw up a little after his lunch as well, but it wasn't anything unusual (as he often runs around the house after eating/drinking and sometimes gets an upset tummy briefly)

This morning I woke up to him vomiting greenish bile in my bed twice, peeing all over my room, AND having very darkly colored diarrhea suddenly. In all the time I have had him he hasn't ever had a potty accident in my room overnight. This is VERY unusual for him. I took him outside immediately to see if he still had to pee, he squatted to poo a bit again instead. He was acting a bit lethargic last night too.

Should I be as worried as I am? I am planning to make him an appointment at the vet this morning, as of right now. but I wanted other opinions.

ASKED BY

I've just taken her my home.

I didn't change her diet, just "Purina puppy chow" as she has been fed, "Milk-bone" for her treat when she discharges herself outside in the yard, and "Nutri-Cal puppy" for the nutrition.

She's been dewormed and had her first shot.
Do I have to worry about her frequency of feces?

Oh, I feed her 3 times a day,too!

Hi Dr. I have a question for you about our female cat that got fixed last week.

The incision looked a little lumpy/uneven. It has been one week. The cat has an e-collar on still and we have sprayed her incision so she is not licking.

however, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch of the incision is not healing together...as in a gap between the two edges of skin.

It does not look infected...no pink streaking from site.

I did call the clinic and they have not called back yet.

Recommendations?

We will be cleaning the site, neosporin on it, and probably take her in tom. or Friday.

Is there something that would be good to increase the healing or will need dissolvable stitches or something?

Thank you.

(She is about 2.5 years old and had 3 litters in the last 1.5 years.)
