Newlyweds: Are we ready for a puppy?!

Okay so we're not quite newlyweds anymore. We've been married a little over a year. We have a 2 yr old kitty cat and a 1 yr old Boxador that we've raised on a farm. We'll be here a little bit longer and children are about a year down the road. Are we ready to add another puppy to our family? It will make weekend trips hard with all animals in the car with us! Of course we'd love to get another puppy but is it just selfish wants?

ASKED BY

There are these dogs and I don't know whether to call the animal shelter or not?

There are three dogs that keep roaming my area, I guess you could call it my neighborhood. For the past week they have been in my yard and all over. They are starting to cause problems with my dogs. One of the dogs is really sweet, he's a pit bull mix. But the other two won't even come near me. As soon as they see me they run off. I would make fliers, but I live out of town and it wouldn't be helpful at all. I would ask my neighbors, but most of them are not in town because it is their part time house. I was told I should try to catch them and take them to the vet to see if they are chipped, but that just doesn't seem very time effective. Plus I don't have anything to catch them in and I don't know how they'd react. I want to call my local animal shelter, but they are known for keeping the animal for a week then they are gone. I don't want to kill the dogs, I just want them to go away. The nearest no kill shelter is over an hour away, so its not really a possibility. What should I do?

ASKED BY

AND the right breeder? BEFORE you decide to buy a puppy online OR in a petstore OR anywhere for that matter, here is some free advice. Please do NOT take the purchase of a pup lightly. It is a LONG commitment.

it's my blog, started for my kids and grandkids, but I just HAD to add a post about buying dogs. It breaks my heart to know there is so much suffering out there and people are innocently duped into contributing to it! please read BEFORE you "shop".

ASKED BY
