I've made a very difficult decision to try to find a good home for Luka

After asking many questions on here and trying in vain to come up with solutions to my dilemmas with Luka, I've come to realize that it is selfish of me to keep her when she is home alone much of the time, and I am not able to provide the stimulation, exercise and attention for her that she deserves. So I am looking for a good home for my little girl. I have placed an ad on Petfinder. If you know of someone who would love to love on my sweet puppy, please let me know.

I wanted to pass on a website in regards to ending puppy mills and backyard breeders.
Stoppuppymills.org

I know there are a lot of people on this site who would like to see puppy mills (backyard breeders too), if not outlawed, at least have strict regulations attached to it.
I came upon this website today and I really want to pass it on. STOPPUPPYMILLS.ORG
I figure the more people have this information, we can start making a dent in getting these things shut down or regulated.
On the site they mention one way to make a dent in puppy mills, and that is not to shop at pet stores that sell animals. If these animals being sold in these stores no longer have buyers, then hopefully the puppy mills will stop breeding as much and will eventually get out of the business.
I know many of you don't have pet stores in your areas that don't sell animals and I know pet food coming from these chains is so much cheaper.
But, I just wanted to pass on this website for everyone to take a look at. And hopefully something, down the road, will come of the awareness of these places.

ASKED BY

Does Macey need a companion?

I have a 6 month old cocker spaniel, female. She is a good puppy, who loves to play! We go on many walks, play ball in the yard, and she also goes next door for a "puppy" date with a yellow lab frequently.

She loves other dogs and all people. I am considering adopting another dog from our local shelter to play with Macey. Macey came from a breeder who kept her with three other puppies. I feel that even though she is always with myself, or my sister, she is lonely. Do puppies need other puppy friends?

If so, would she do better with a male/female? And should the puppy/dog be older or younger than her? I would prefer a little older instead of going through the whole puppy stage again! By the way, the neighbor's dog is a female lab who Macey gets along great with.

ASKED BY

For instance, the month of June DRNA waives fees for senior dogs to aid in adoption. Just a for instance.

ASKED BY

Submissive peeing

How do you correct a dog that jumps in chairs and such to get to food when submissive peeing is already a problem? I am at my wits end. I've already asked how to solve the problem with submissive peeing, and I know that it's going to take a while, but, with that as an issue, how do you discipline a dog with out overdoing it and making that one worse? It seriously breaks my heart that he is acting this way, and even though I was reassured that it wasn't the crate training helping make matters worse, I'm still not sure. When we first got him, he didn't do that, but within 2 wks he started to show this submissive behavior and I really don't know what to do.

ASKED BY
