Over the last 2 years Pepe seems to be latching out and wanting to bite our guests. When ever any one enters our room he starts barking and growling and when they move he dashes at them and tries to bite them.
There are lots of reasons why dogs start to lash out against people coming into the house. He may be afraid, or he may be defending his territory. Try the following:
1. Take Pepe to the vet to make sure he is healthy and not in pain. Sometimes, a dog in pain will not whine, but will try to attack.
2. Once the vet has given him a clean bill of health, consult a trainer or behaviorist who specializes in dog aggression. Make sure the expert uses humane methods and positive reinforcement - this means no yelling, leash-jerking, or physically restraining the dog.
3. Take Pepe for a long walk before guests arrive, and bring him outside to meet them. If he is still rude, put him in another room until you can work with the trainer on this behavior.

Make sure Pepe is spayed / neutered.
Then start training him that the charging of guests is not allowed.
You can train this without people first.
Teach the dog to down. Then once he learns that buy a nice soft mat, place the mat in the living room. When people come over make sure the dog already knows down and place the dog to the mat using your down command, reward the dog of course, with food, use a piece of diced ham or chicken in your training. If he gets off the mat gently and calmly lead the dog over back to the mat. Repeat this as many times as needed. During the visit remind the dog of the command and reward him during their visit.
It will take repetitiveness and calm from you. After a couple of weeks success with people coming in to visit have the people toss food to his mat as he lays on it, this will help him know people coming in to visit are a good thing.:) Oh, they don't talk to him or stare just toss and walk on. That way the dog won't be tempted to run off the mat.
