My parents hardly care about my dog!
READ. My parents, especially my mom, hardly care about my dog! To my mom he means almost nothing.Well she cares just enough to cook for him but that's just about it.She wont take the dog out, bath him or even play with him.I think my mom cooks for the dog just because no one else knows how to cook.My dad doesn't care enough to teach him any tricks, housebreak him (he's taking a long time to be housebroken because I have no support) the most my dad does is bath the dog whenever he feels like it, takes him out in the morning and play with him for like 10 seconds.Even with my broken pinkie on my left hand I have to take Sonny out every 2 hours because it's too much for my dad to do that.Here's the crazy part. GOLF is more important than Sonny.He said it himself "At this moment, golf is more important than the dog".My parents are almost completely careless.And when you answer please dont give me some "Oh they care but not as much as..." BULLCRAP! GIVE ME REAL ANSWERS! Plz any suggestions?

not to be rude but i think your parents r kind of selfish they only care about themselves and ONLY themselves. if you feel this the right thing to do------i would give him to a no kill RESCUE. they will be able to get him in a home where he will have people who care about him :)...You r doing the right thing by asking for help... i do know that you love and care for the dog even though your parents don't :)

Well, in all honesty, if you say he's YOUR dog, then he is your responsibility, not your parents! Don't expect your parents to train Sonny, bathe him, feed him or walk him. Housetraining is a whole-family effort, which is another story.
You say your Mom cooks for your dog? Does that mean you (or Mom) knows how to properly make a home cooked diet for the dog and what he needs? If not, then check out the Home prepared diet Forum.
I don't blame your parents for not "caring" about Sonny. If he's YOUR dog then why should they do all the work for him? Count your blessings, my Mom doesn't even want to TOUCH Zack, much less COOK for him. My parents aren't really "dog people" as much as I am, Zack would not get half as good care if he was solely my parents dog.
If you want your dog to learn tricks, YOU are the one to teach him, if you want him to get exercise, YOU (unless you are incapable, broken finger doesn't cut it, sorry) have to be the one to take him for walks, etc.
