Have you taken her to the vet yet? This should be your first action, so you get a diagnosis and can start treating her.

It might be fleas or other parasites, food allergies, a new habit/obsessive behavior, or any number of things, so please get her to the vet today and find out why it's happening!

Some ideas, in the meantime:
1. Have her sit and gently examine the area. If you see a tick, call the vet for instructions on removing it. If it's a burr or other irritant, gently remove it. Call the vet for advice on washing and applying something soothing.

2. Visit the vet, to make sure it's not infected.

3. If it turns out to be a behavioral issue, make sure she's getting enough exercise - walking, running, trips to the dog park or dog beach, swimming - any enjoyable activity that gets her outdoors and moving! Learning new tricks will help, too.

4. After it's healed, you can use an Itch Stick to keep her from re-visiting the area. It soothes the skin and tastes yucky!

Good luck!

Dieta

I would also take her to vet #1 then if nothing is present in the coat or skin, I would buy some solid gold shampoo the herbal is excellent. Rinse the dog alot to make sure no residue is left. Apply some frontline according to her weight, petsmart has this.
Then just give it a couple of months to clear up.
