My dog has a bleeding mass in her colon?....Please help!

I have a 7 year old am staff, I just took my dog to the vet because she has had bleeding from her anus after she poops. It turns out that she has a bleeding mass in her colon.

They told me my only option was to do blood work that will be $150 and then a biopsy (which is at least $1000) and surgery after that (at least another $1000). Im a poor college student and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this or other options?

Thank you for your help!!!!

I'm so sorry about your dog. I don't know about this medical stuff, but I do know if you explain your situation to some Vets they may reduce the price or let you make payments. If not I would ask family and friends for any finacial support at all. I heard about a girl who had a myspace page and she was a college student too and she set up a paypal account with the number of her Vet to veriffy it was real and she was able to raise all but $37.50 and the bill was over a thousand so if you really love this dog and it has a chance with the proper medical attention I would do everything in my power to get the money and save my dog. I wish you the very best!!!

I would get a second opnion. I have a dachshund that has blood in her poop and she has gallbladder sludge. We are treating her with Actigall to clear it up.
Did they do an ultrasound?
Can they not treat it with medicine?
Do some research and see if there is an alternative.
Good luck to you and your dog.
