I would think you should be able to do it now... I'm not sure though. Heat cycles depend on the dog, but you can count on another cycle in six months. I would call the vet now and see when to have her spayed. I would say if not now, it would be after the puppies are totally weaned and in new homes. I hope someone can answer your question... Normally it would be 6-7 months before she comes in heat. Some vets want to wait longer than others. Talk to your vet or whoever you plan to have do it. Go ahead as soon as they will do it. Don't put off too long, or you will being going through the whole thing again.

Thank you for planning on doing it now. I am not sure we do a good job preparing people for dog ownership.
