It didn't seem to have any effect for the first few hours. Now, he's shaking his head a lot. One of his ears seems to be bothering him, which is new. Not sure if it's related though...
Probably not related, however, I would take him to the vet for an ear check (most likely an ear infection) to get some medication and then ask about the herbs to be sure (I think you're probably fine). But continuous shaking of the head from an ear infection can lead to an ear hematoma if left untreated. Which can only be fixed with surgery-ew. :) good luck!

Boomer's answer sounds good. I would be more concerned about the bag than the spices.
If the ear is related to the spices, he still needs to see a vet.

spices and cheese probably won't hurt him, most spices (garlic, oregano etc.) are good for dogs. The worst that could happen is if he ate a lot he might have an upset stomach or something.
The head shaking probably isn't related, take him to the vet to be checked for ear problems, Labs are especially prone to ear infections, especially older ones.

I'd take him to the vet to make sure that the head shaking and ingesting the spices aren't related. In regards to the sandwich baggie, I just asked a similar question because my dog ate a sandwich bag with salami in it. It took about 3 days and the bag finally came out yesterday morning.
The only thing that was a problem was the salami gave him diarrhea, so be on the lookout for that because of the spices.

shouldn't be but he may have a tummy ache, any consumption of plastic and foreign objects have risks, serious happenings. So, watch that. If it does not come out in 24 hrs, it can block his stomach tube and make dog sick and worse.
