Tanner

My 11 year-old dog has been peeing all over the house (in the same spots) since the fall. Any ideas why?

Tanner is an 11 year-old Miniature Schnauzer/Shih-tzu cross. He's never had any health problems before now. In the fall of 2008 my mom kept discovering pee spots on the carpet in one of the rooms in our house. At first we thought it was our new kitten but when my cousin watched Tanner while we were away, he peed on her carpet, so we know it has to be him. It's weird because we have never actually seen him do it. The spots just keep appearing. Now my mom keeps finding them all over the house. We're thinking kidney stone. Hopefully we won't have to put him down and antibiotics will do the trick, but my mom is upset about the carpet and of course the vet bill will cost a lot. Tanner went to the vet not long ago and we were told he had a bit of blood in his urine, so we gave him some pills, but he kept vomiting them up. The pills didn't seem to help with the pee spots.

Do you think it's a kidney stone? Anyone else have a similar experience?

Burkett's Cookies 'n' Creme

Over a year ago, my GSD kept leaving wet spots everywhere. We thought perhaps it was a UTI, but when the vet tested her urine sample, nothing came up so it had to be urinary incontinence. Fortunately, there were pill for that, so we took home a bottle of Proin and it seems to work by about 95%.

Perhaps another vet visit would be helpful.
