My 10 week old chocolate lab drinks a lot of water and is constantly urinating. Is this a sign of a kidney problem?

My 5 month male lab doesn't drink as much as her and never urinated as much. She is constantly at the water bowl and when she urinates it is clear. Sometimes she pees very small amounts and other times large. I recall her going 6 times in an hour. Sometimes she will pee a little walk and pee some more because she is occupied with exploring outside. Its just odd. This is my first female so maybe I'm worrying to much. Last night was the first night she held it through the night. Am I just being a worry wart?

Umm, maybe being safe. I would get the vet to look at her. Briz pees a lot less then the male dogs. (More volume and less often. She doesn’t save some for the next weed that might look interesting) It could be kidney trouble or an allergy or who knows what. Maybe just that Labs love water and she is too busy looking to pee. Better to find out in case you need to treat it before it becomes a serious problem.

I think its always a good idea to check it out with your vet-get an urinalysis done to ease your mind. If all is clear, its probably nothing; I had fostered a young male lab that was basically doing the same thing you are describing, very frustrating, but we went through a multitude of tests and nothing was wrong with him. He would pee outside and then come in and five minutes later pee a huge puddle on the floor inside....go figure. Is she spayed already? And when? Recently? She could be peeing more because of that surgery, sometimes females and males do that. When I had a female dog in the house she was potty trained in two weeks and peed less than the male dogs I have now; but I think she was an exception to most dogs.
