I'm just curious.
Any dog can be trained, all Michael vicks dogs were Pit Bulls and all of them were trained in the shelter and they got all the dogs to good homes.

They dont need to be trained to be kind and gentle, they are BORN that way. People make them--and any other dog--monsters.

Pitbulls are naturally very affectionate, loving, wonderful dogs that have been horribly abused throughout the years by complete monsters.

Sorry Delilah but all of them have not been placed in homes. Some are in shelters for the rest of their lives. Some are at Best Friends Sanctuary for life. The most of them were placed but some were SOOOO traumatized that they may never be able to be out in society for their safety and the safety of other animals.Pit Bulls are not born human aggressive but like most terriers can be animal aggressive. This is not hard to curb, most dogs do what their owners are happy with or in other words they only want to please their owners. So if their owners train them this way then that's what they will be.Simular to kids!
SERIOUSLY SONNY you really need to do some reading & if at all possible get around some good dog people and meet some real Pit Bulls that have been raised properly. All dogs have the potential to be aggressive I have been in the animal field for over 30 years and I have seen more aggressive mix breeds then any breed in general.

They don't need to be trained, they are NATURALLY like that. Pit Bulls are very sweet affectionate dogs, you have to TRAIN them to be aggressive.

It certainly is. In fact, I can honestly say that I've met more well-behaved Pit Bulls than I have well-behaved Labs. Provide a Pit with love, friendship, training, adequate exercise (physical and mental), socialization, and fullfil it's basic needs and you have a friend for life. That goes with any breed out there.
I recommend giving pitbulllovers.com a look-over.

Bianca is better behaved than most labs and beagles I know. She loves to play with people of all ages and is very gentle with children and older people. My parents did not have to do any extra training beyond the same amount of good socialization and basic obedience training you would need to do with any other dog. Bianca is a very loyal, affectionate, 65-lb. "lap dog" who loves all people that aren't trying to harm her family. Her obedience skills are excellent.
I know several pit bull type dogs, and while some are dog aggressive and cannot be around other dogs, none are human aggressive and most are very good with small children (supervised play of course, just as you would do with any other dog).
Bianca loves to play with other dogs and gets along well with all of them, from a 5-lb. Maltese mix to a 100+lb. Malamute (again, supervised as you should do with any other dog). She and Zack spend a lot of time together and sometimes even share the same food, water, and toys.

I have a foster dog, Pamela a female Chocolate Lab. I had no problem bringing her into my house with my two dogs. She loves them. But within the first week she acted fearful and aggressive toward other dogs. I have been working hard with her. We made great progress a week ago at a public dog park swim. Thanks to a lovely Pit Bull. What a gentleman he was. He let her have her space, let her sniff, and sniffed her back only briefly. After that she was willing to go inside the fence and go off lead.
I am a former Pit owner. Because of home-owners insurance, I will not get another. Nor will I get a German Shepherd, Akita, Chow, Rottweiler, Husky, Malamute, Great Dane, St Bernard, or Doberman.
Got to be kidding.
It's the lousy owners, it's never the dog's fault.

I am the proud owner of a pit mix, a lab mix, and a pug.
My lab has been known to fear bite. He can be crabby with other dogs as well. I don't trust him alone with children because fear can do funny things to animals. My pit... well he is so docile that my pug bites him, yet he does nothing to stop it. The pug has broken his skin more than once! He did this to the lab but the lab put him in his place and he no longer picks on him... I wish the pit would do the same!
My pit is a lover, not a fighter. It is his nature to be a cuddle bug and to play well with other animals.... I would trust him with children except that he'd likely knock them over trying to give them kisses! He is a very social guy and eats up all the love.
Was he taught to be a gentle dog? No. He just wasn't taught to be mean.

Honestly I have only seen an aggressive pit, once, that went after Jet. Virtually all the other ones I have seen have been very mild natured. Its all in the training.

American Pit Bull Terriers are one of the most misunderstood breeds. If you have the National Geographic Channel I would suggest watching the Dog Whisperer. He has a pack of Pits, that are gentle. Pit's are born as sweet dogs, playful and can be rough in playing, but they are trained by monsters to become aggressive. They are typically also a breed that is great with young children.
