She will not purposefully fling herself out the window, but kittens are like little kids. They don't always understands the danger. She may jump at a passing buterfly only to find she is higher off the ground then imagined! Keep all your windows closed. There are also ways you can make it so she can't sit on the window sill.

My cat Izzie chew and tore through a number of screens this summer, so even if you have a screen, if she's like Izzie, she might tear through it. I purchased a screen insert from my local hardware. You open the window, put this insert in and close the window on top of it. Even Izzie couldn't tear through this. They only cost a few dollars.

No, she will not know better and if there are not secure screens protecting the window, she could very well jump or even fall out of the window. Cats do not "always land on their feet" like they say and she could be hurt very badly by a three story fall.
