I have two labs and a dear friend willing to dog sit while I am out-of-town. How much should I pay her?

Cash TT

We had a friend pet-sit Cash while we were in Vegas once. We paid him $50 for a weekend of feeding and walking. It wasn't anything too demanding or strenuous- and it was a high-school kid so we got lucky! I think $20-25 a day is a reasonable rate.

Yopu could also Check the rates of local dog-sitters, and since your friend isn't a professional, you can drop it a little less. If you would like to make sure your friend would pet sit again- be sure to not be a cheapskate!

That is cheap! Professional sitters charge about $50-85 a night for time, labor, mileage, etc. It's not that taking care of most dogs is strenuous, etc. Sitters charge higher rates because they spend 12-15 hours with your pet, providing individual attention, home security, etc. They don't leave the house as much as a friend might to go to dinner or do other things.

We have a friend that pet sits for a living. She charges $65 dollars for over night and $15 per visit if it is not over night. She only charges us $10 per visit because we are friends though. If you are friend is going to stay over night my friend will charge me $50 per night. Hope this is helpful.

I would say that 20-50 dollars a day is a reasonable price for 2 dogs. I usually charge 10 dollars a day per dog when I watch dogs though...
