I have an altered, 1-yr-old, male Rat Terrier who's very high-energy. What's a good lower-energy breed to pair him with?

I live in a small apartment and am gone most of the day for work so outside/potty time is limited. New dog must be good with young kids (ages 7 mos-4 yrs) and compatible with altered Bichon Frise, too.

i am not sure, i love rat terriers, so i would say get another, but if you want to tame the animal inside him, he needs to be exercised. that is all that works for me and my baby, they sleep better, behavior problems stop, and they are just all around better dogs when exercised. good luck to you. happy holidays!

haha...Believe it or not, my answer would the the English mastiff. Bam-bam is the most laid back dog I've ever met, and he loves other doggys.
No matter what breed you chose though, make sure you do your research on the breed and find a reputable breeder or go through a rescue. No pet stores, puppy mills or backyard breeders please!
