I have a one year old female Manchester Terrier who "passed out" yesterday. The vet says she has an enlarged heart.

What is the prognosis? Is there medication I can give her? ANY help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

the vet can tell you.
If the vet did not tell you then you need to take the dog to another vet as this is very very serious.
First the vet must determine why the dog's heart is enlarged. If the animal has heart worm, cardiac diseases or other. Then , he must tell you what to do about the situation.
You must go back to the vet's if you are unclear what to do.
With an enlarged heart yes they can pass out and it can lead to other problems as well.

Patchs

You should be asking yor Vet this question!

The vet should have determined why the dog's heart is enlarged and only he will know the prognosis and the treatment needed to correct the problem.

Ty

I have had a dog in the past that had an enlarged heart. ABout the only thing that you can do is have the vet put your dog on medicine and you will have to watch the dogs diet. I know what you are going through and it is kind of scary. I was walking my dog when he passed out. I wish you and your dog all the luck in the world. And i also wanted to let you know that dogs can live for a long time with an enlaged heart under the right medication and treatment.
