I have a 3 year old lab/bordercollie mix and I just got a new pup 6 weeks old,an australian shepherd.

the lab(Max) is not happy and actually seems depressed sinse we brought the puppy(Jack) home.
we introduced them before we brought Jack home and they seemed fine but now Max wants nothing to do with Jack and hides in the bedroom most of the time.
what can do to help Max?

GIve Max a lot of attention, special treats, one on one time, he probably feels threatened and/or left out. It is natural to give a puppy a lot of attention, make sure Max knows that he is still an important part of your life and the puppy won't replace him.
I am sure after a while he will feel better and become great friends with the puppy.

I agree with the first post. when i bring a new puppy home, the older dogs get extra attention so they dont feel like are being left behind. I know it is hard to not pay all the attention to a puppy, but they need to know they are still a part of the family.
