I am thinking of adding a boston terrier to my life early 2010 and would like a heads up of what daily life with a boston is like.
Thanks in advance to who-ever posts a reply.
I have a male and you can look at his profile.
He turns 9 yrs. the last day here of the month.
He has been a complete JOY. I socialize my dogs with children and other nice dogs early on. Then do simple obedience early on and brush up on it after 2 yrs every week. They are very obedient, friendly, love children if raised with them and properly handled, they have a outgoing personality full of energy, but are prone to Not withstand the Heat or the Cold, a sweater in the winter is a good ideal, they can pick up on multiple tricks, they are a food hog so watch how much they eat, can do tricks because they are very witty and are athletic. They are not good swimmers at all, they have problems with the throat inside as far as a fatty palate, they make excellent watchdogs, very loyal to family but social if raised properly, low maintaince for feeding, brushing, and shedding is there but the hairs are small. General all around dogs, and children have hours of fun playing or dressing them up.

I just got my first Boston a year ago and we go to a boston meet up, we also have quite a few friends with bostons so I feel like I know the variations within the breed well, They all have very different personalities and vary greatly in shape and size but here are some of the generalizations.
They are easy enough to train, they are very loyal and sociable. they play better with other Bostons becaus ethey have the same temperament and energy level. They are smart - our dog rings a bell to go outside, so easy to do! They are energetic, but small so even a good run around the house will suffice if you have no other choice. They may be good eaters but ours is not so fussed, she eats but not ferociously.
I would highly recommend the breed, no grooming really necessary, bath one every two weeks.
I will always have Bostons now, Im in love :) Hopefully you will be too.
