How Do You Make Pictures From GImp?

I would like to learn how to make pictures (animation) from any FREE program. If you know how to please post here or pawmail me.

In GIMP, keep each frame of an animation in a separate layer. When you save, save as a GIF and select "save as animation". You can then close and reopen the file to change the timing of the frames. (open the layer dialog and change the layer names accordingly)
