I have no idea, sorry! I'll give you a link though, maybe it will help. If the grooming is to hard you can always bring him to a professinal. If you are sure that you are going to groom him make sure you start when he is young the older that they get the more they fight the brush and other tools (nail clipers etc) Which is very frustrating especially in breeds that need to be grommed alot.

What i tell people that want to groom their own pets is have a groomer do your dog for the 1st time to set the grooming lines up for you then you can copy or practice with what they did for you.
Basically Silky's don't need to much trimming. Face feet and fanny's done monthly along with nails. brushing on a daily basis and trim around the ears.Keep the face clean and that's about it.Maybe once a year have a pro do the grooming to make sure there are no mats left in your dog. It should be right around $20 for a regular Silky grooming depending on where you are located.
