try Orijen fish.
That might be the only thing tempting enough if that has been her only diet.
good luck, dry kibble sucks compared to real food.

Start out with canned only, a good one like Wellness CORE ocean canned(it was a hit with my dog). And also try dry CORE ocean. most dogs can't resist fish based dog foods.

so what you are saying is you believe your dog would rather starve to death than eat a perfectly palatable dogfood. Somehow I don't think that is true. I once outwaited a Lhasa Apso, three days, no food, she showed me who was boss, ME. She ate her dogfood when she was truly HUINGRY. If you are offering a nutritious palatable dogfood and he refuses to eat, he is just not hungry enough to not insist on getting what HE wants.
Trust me, no dog will starve with adequate food available. It is your job to provide what you believe to be the best food for him, it is his job to eat it.

You might try gradually getting him used to the dog food, definatly get a food that will taste good to him but I recommend adding gravy or some type of "human" food to her dog food starting with little dog food more human food and gradually add more and more dog food as days progress maybe every other day until he is eating just his dog food, this is how i would handle the situation if it was my dog! Good Luck!!

I'd make sure she has some good quality dog food. Brands like Wellness, Eagle Pack or Canidae are great choices. So is the lower cost Natural Balance. All of them are fairly rich foods, so she should be tempted by them.
It's good that you are no longer feeding human food to your dog. It's really quite bad for them (table scraps, I'm talking about, not fresh veggies and lean chicken, that sort of thing.)
If he's been used to human food, it's only natural to hold out for a while for the "good stuff."
I'd urge to not look at this transition as a contest or a "who is boss" challenge. It's just a transition, plain and simple and your job is to HELP Harley transition. So, expect some confusion and also maybe even some reluctance to eat for a day or so.
Dogs really won't starve themselves, unless under extreme circumstances. Provide fresh food at the same time each day and if it's not eaten within 1/2 hour, pick it up.
It hopefully will be that simple for you.

Harley knows that you love him and that you will give in! He is waiting on you to give him something more tasty than his plain old dry food!
After you eat your breakfast put down Harley bowl with half of the days food in it. Let it sit for about 15 minutes than take it up until after you eat your dinner. Once you are done eating you can put his food down again and let it sit for 15 minutes than take it back up. He may not eat any at all for the first couple of meals. I did this to my Mom after I was on canned I/D food from the vet for a couple of weeks. I wanted the good stuff and was hoping Mom would give in...she didn't so I had to eat dry food again!
Pick a tasty food for Harley! Mom recommends and feeds Me (another picky 4 year old Pom) Ultra Small Breed Adult! She does work for Nutro. It has chicken meal, lamb meal, salmon meal, and fresh salmon in it-so it is super flavorful! There are also a lot of other goodies in there to keep Harley healthy!
