Hi!I have got a 2 years old female Bernese.She is NEVER barking.What should I do to make her bark?

My bernese Girl Bernie is a realy good natured dog.But she is not barking at any way..I am trying to make him bark with other dogs, games, high volumed music, treats but no way... Sometimes when I say" talk" she is making noise like yelling so loudly... What should I do to make this girl bark_?

Why does she need to bark? Let her make whatever sound she wants to or can. I don’t really bark, I howl, yodel, whine, and once in a while make a low throaty woof.

Huskies are known for not barking, maybe your girl just isn’t a barker either, and if she isn’t, you are not going to get her to bark, give it up, and enjoy whatever she does do.

I don't understand why you want your dog to bark. People buy shock collars, do idiot things like debark their dog. You have a dog that doesnt bark and this is a problem?

Oh geez, come to my house for one day and you'd chnage your mind about wanting her to bark.
Deogie barks at everything and everybody. His "quiet" command must be said a 100 times a day.
Teaching a dog to bark and encouraging it can lead to problems in the future.
I wouldn't want to change a thing about her, she is prefect just the way she is.

Mommy agrees with everyone above. She says I "nag". When I was little Grandma thought I would never bark. Believe me I BARK! Mommy says enjoy the peace and quiet. If your folks need the sound of barking she will send you a tape of me!

LOL! Enjoy your dog's quiet nature. My 30 lb mutt thinks she's Cujo or ten feet tall & bulletproof behind the window & fence. She hears Quiet, Shhh, and Leave it quite often in the course of a day. Remember, Silence is Golden.

We have 2 dogs, one husky and one mixed breed, and neither of them barks regularly. Misty will bark at snakes or once in a while if Fagan stops playing with her. The only time Fagan has ever barked loudly was when the cable guy accidentally woke him up from a nap and literally startled the pee out of him! They mostly grunt and whine and growl and Fagan does mini barks when he gets excited which is fine with me. I grew up with hounds that barked and howled 24/7 and quiet indoor dogs are much, much better!!
