Unfortunately you have a breed of dog that will always shed and shed a lot. There are ways you can cut down on the shedding but you'll never get her to completely stop shedding.

1) Make sure you are feeding her a high quality food (nothing from the grocery store, etc)

2) be sure to brush her outside every day

3) try a Furminator to get at the undercoat

Other then that, invest in a good vacuum!

In our labs case, her diet needed to be changed. She was on a cheaper diet and, like your dog, she shed every day, constantly. She actually ended up losing alot of her hair. We switched her to a better diet ( we use orijen, but there are plenty of options out there! Canidae, Timberwolf, wellness, raw, cooked, etc) This may be the solution your looking for. Also make sure there are no underlying health issues that are causing all of the shedding. If your pup is given a clean bill of health try changing her food gradually and brushing her out with a good brush designed to help with shedding.

Good luck. Our dog stopped her shedding withing a month, she's a completely different dog!

well... this is pretty normal. the last lab we had was a constant shedder his whole life. double-coated dogs are notorious for this - just their nature.

i suggest getting a Furminator brush (or something similar) and go to town on her! this will grab at the undercoat that will be missed by a regular dog brush. i'm Furminated almost every other day or so, but i have a long coat.

if you don't want to do this yourself, a doggy spa day at a good groomer can do a decent job of blowing her out to get the loose hair. this isn't a good long term solution tho (spendy!). my best friend is a siberian husky and she goes to get this done twice a year when she "blows coat" for the season.

also, investing in the Costco Valu-Pak of lint rollers might be wise. :-)
good luck!

Labs are shedders, no doubt about it.

One of my dogs has a coat similar to a lab, and changing his diet made a huge difference. I also use an undercoat brush (the Furminator, but there are other brands) during coat-blowing seasons. Dogs that live inside (which is great--dogs should live inside) tend to shed more throughout the year but a better diet and better grooming should help keep it under control.

My mom had a gorgeous lab mix that was a shedder and a half! She would brush him often while outside. She swept and vacuumed every other day to keep the hair in check.

I just got the Bissell Lift Off Revolution Pet vacuum and it's wonderul! I have two dogs and a cat and it's the best one I've ever used.

Stretch

My dog shed nonstop!!! I have her on a good diet-and groom her. I would bathe her and use a blower to get the loose dead hair out. Only to find the next day she`s shedding again. I have kids- so i firmly believe that tension can cause shedding too. So fed up, i shaved her. it was the best thing i ever did. Saved me alot of vacuuming and hair in my little girls mouth. Good luck!

All labs shed there is nothing you can really do. Brushing daily helps a lot. Um try putting shed stop in her food you can buy it from your local Petco. I have three labs
