Dogs digging in carpet in master bedroom.
Ok here's the question: My 2 six year old mutts have started digging in the carpet in my master bedroom. They only exhibit poor behavior when we aren't home so it's difficult to correct them. They walk at least 1 mile every night and have lots of toys in the room. We've tried to crate them together and separately, but they end up destroying each steel crate within a couple of hours. Please help!

If you have a back yard that is FENCED try putting them back there. Also if you have two bathrooms try puting one in each of them with food ,water and toys. If you only have one bathroom put on in there and baby gate the Kitchen and put one in there if they need to be seperated. Or you could build a dog run if they dont have to be seperated.

Is it in the same place every time? In the corner of the room, or out in the open? This is going to sound odd, but... maybe you should check under the carpet to see if there's something there. We get itty-bitty lizards in the house sometimes that drive my dogs nuts. There might also have been a spill or mold under there that attracts them. Just a thought.

there is something there, or under the floor that they want. I'll bet you have a mouse in the house...honest. I have my GSPs that go totally nuts if there is a mouse in the house (we live in the country) LOTS of field mice like to come in this time of year. A mouse can easily fit thru a space or gap smaller than a dime. They can scurry places you'd never think they could go. My guess is MOUSE a word we don't say aloud here.
P.S. Sunshine wants to add, use a sticky trap where the dogs can't get to catch this devil. Rodent poison will KILL a dog, even a tiny bit is FATAL!
