My two month old husky puppy loves drinking water, sadly, everytime without fail she puts her front paws in the watering bowl and digs like crazy, leaving a great big puddle and wet paw prints everywhere on the patio and inside the house. Why does she do this and how can I make her stop?
A raised bowl holder may help.
My dog as a baby did that, I bought her a kiddie pool.
Now that winter is coming find her some cool toys like the kong, or wubba.
Toss those around when you catch her water diggin.
use the toys as a way of saying hey over here, let's find out how fun these toys can be :) have fun.:)

How about getting her a wading pool outside? Giving her plenty of exercise could help as well. She is doing it because it is fun and she likes water.

All my huskies do that as well. I never minded when they do it outside but how I got them to stop doing it inside was when they started to do it I would bang a pot or make a very loud noise to startle them everytime they went to do it. They haven't done it since.

I used to catch my dog doing that when I used a stainless steel water bowl. Turned out the reflective surface made her think another dog was watching her and wanted to play!! That and light and things reflect and sparkle and are interesting to play with. Change to a ceramic bowl and see if that helps. It helped us!!!

Max likes to dig in water, it is a fun game. I use a pail inside. Tipping it over hasn't occurred to him and it is impossible to dig in. If he did decide tipping was fun I could use one with a wire handle and hook it to the wall with a cup hook.
