Put one of the seed packs of mouse poison under a low dresser that the cats can't get under. The cats might eventually catch and eat the mouse ,after playing with it for hours or give it to you.If they eat it they could get worms, easily fixed.Good luck. The ammount of poison in a dead mouse from Warafin ,won't be enough to harm the cats. They might roll on a dead mouse ,but won't probably eat it unless they kill it themselves.

You could try placing mouse traps behind the frig and under the cabinets where your cats can't get to them. Never use poison. The mouse can ingest it, then your cat could possible get ahold of the mouse, better to be safe than sorry. I hate the sticky traps and would never use them.
I just posted a forum relating to this problem. Miss Meany does catch the occasional mouse that finds it's way into my home. but she hardly ever kills them. She usual brings them to me and places them at my feet, still very much alive. I have to catch them and release them in my back field. Sometimes she does injure them quite badly and then I am left with the choice of what to do with this poor thing. Not fun. My biggest fear is her bringing them to me while I sleep...UGGGHH!!!
I would much rather get them in a trap but she seems to find them quicker than the mice find the traps.
They could eat it but I would think they'd probably bring it to you, show off their catch.

Some cats eat them and some just play with them until they are dead. My sister actually found one squished under a floor mat by her door but many cats will present to you as a gift. The best trap that I could recommend is one called a Mice Cube. I got mine at Wal mart when I had mice at my condo. It's a little plastic cube for about $1.50. They go in but the door only opens one way so they can't get out. It's a humane trap so you have to check it daily and then when you catch it alive, you have to release it at least a mile away so it won't come back. The best bait for mice is a piece of Reese's peanut butter cup. I found out that they like them because that's what my mice were stealing and scattering the wrappers. If you do not care about being humane to rodents, then glue traps are safe for kitties but sort of a nasty way to die for the mouse. They just get stuck. Freaked me out too much so I had to go humane.
