I don't know either. Maybe he just likes the scent and is trying to make himself a bed? Not sure. But at least he isn't harming the shirts any. I have a cat, Mystique, that keeps stealing my new blue fuzzy house slippers! Earlier this evening she took one right off my foot and took off with it into the living room. Where she started a fight with it...

Consider yourself lucky that Emmett B. isn't peeing on the clothes too. We get a LOT of questions about that sort of thing. Some cats have a much more pronounced "denning instinct" than others. He may be trying to make himself a hidey-place. Since Dad probably doesn't want Emmett's fur all over his shirts, why not make sure the dresser/closets are closed and get him one of those cat beds that he can hide in and just poke out his head. He's a cutie. Give him a hug and headpats for us!

I don't know why Emmett would do this, but I can atleast say you aren't alone. Our Pretty Girl will occasionally gather Dad's clean socks and move them to her secret location. We thought maybe she was going through a false pregnancy, or reminiscing her kittens of years past. It was almost like she was treating the socks like kittens, carrying them around and making a den for them. Before we adopted her she was used as a breeder, but she was fixed many years ago so its strange that she does this years later. It doesn't bother us though, so we never really looked in it.
