Calcification of the disc - Mini Dachshund

My Phoebe has calcification on 3 discs. She's 11 years old. My vet has had her on crate rest (4 weeks and we're on week 3) and anti-inflammitories and pain meds. My concern is she's not getting any better, but not getting any worse. I let her out to eat and potty and when she's on her pain meds (makes her tired) I'll let her lay on the couch with me for about an hour. I go in on Saturday for her follow up (3 weeks) to determine what type of treatment we need to continue. I don't think we are at surgery but would like some recommendations that may benefit her. She is NOT overweight.
