I really need to know how to go about the trainging and the registering and everything. Can anyone help me?
They are allowing mixed breeds into certain events, however not conformation showing. The point of conformation showing is to prove how closely a dog fits its breed standard and that it is breeding quality.
I believe AKC agility events and the obedience events are accepting mixes (but I could be wrong). You don't register the dog, you just find a class for either one of these in your area and then you find shows near you. Infodog.com is a good site to find shows.

Yes AKC has just announced a mixed breed program.
This program always mix breeds to compete in AKC Agility, Rally and Obedience events NOT confirmation.
Dogs must be spayed or neutred and you must apply for a ID number.
You can find more information at

AKC isn't the only game in town though. UKC, NADAC, CPE, USDAA, ASCA all allow mixed breeds to complete and I am sure there are more. Google the parent organizations to see if there are any events in your area to find out more.
